Music - Uppingham Organ Festival

An exciting weekend of events to herald the arrival of a new Chapel organ at Uppingham School, Rutland. The new organ represents a significant and exciting new chapter in the life of music-making at Uppingham School. The original instrument (1915) was enlarged after fifty years and had recently reached retirement age. One of Europe's most distinguished organ builders, Nicholsons of Malvern were commissioned to design and build an instrument fit for the twenty-first century. Some of the original pipework was retained and revoiced; the organ is in other respects entirely new. The beautifully handcrafted oak casework sits amongst the Chapel's gothic architecture making a wonderful sight to complement the pipes' thrilling array of sounds.
All events will be held in the Chapel, Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland.
