Arts for Rutland exists to lead and promote the development and performance of film, theatre, music, comedy, dance, visual arts, crafts and creative writing in Rutland. It supports and sustains organisations and individuals in Rutland that participate in these activities, and is in the process of creating a strategic framework in partnership with all relevant statutory bodies and organisations to ensure that all opportunities for funding these activities are fully exploited.
Membership is open to any organisation or educational establishment which is interested in furthering the work of Arts for Rutland, and to individuals involved in the arts.

CONSTITUTION
Arts for Rutland was formally constituted on May 23rd 2005. It is a successor organisation to the former Rutland Arts Forum
The agreed objectives of Arts for Rutland are to:
LEAD and PROMOTE the development and performance of film, theatre, music, comedy, dance, visual art, craft and creative writing in Rutland
SUPPORT and SUSTAIN organisations and individuals in Rutland that participate in these activities
CREATE a strategic framework in partnership with all relevant statutory bodies and organisations
ENSURE that all opportunities for funding these activities are fully exploited.
Specific tasks already agreed by Arts for Rutland include:
- Preparation of a strategic framework for the Arts in Rutland by March 2006. This will be prepared in close cooperation with the Local Strategic Planning group, Rutland County Council, and other relevant bodies.
- Evaluation of box office and advertising opportunities to assist all Arts organisations in Rutland
- Support as required for the Oakham Historic Core Strategy and any other similar initiatives where the Arts have a role.
